PT Technician

SOUTHSHORE PHYSICAL THERAPY in Metairie is looking for a full-time Physical Therapy Technician to join our energetic and enthusiastic crew. This position is responsible for working directly with our patients as well as with the other team members on the clinic floor.

This job includes the following duties:

• Guide patients in completing their treatment programs at each visit
• Sign in patient charts and record progress as activities are completed
• Document any updates, progress or problems in charts
• Place equipment for all individual patient exercises
• Inform physical therapist when he is needed by a patient
• Set up treatment rooms for patients
• Clean treatment rooms after each use
• Prepare patient charts for the next business day
• Support front office staff by helping with completed chart filing
• Assist with multiple loads of daily linen laundry
• Maintain clean, orderly appearance of clinic floor
• Disinfect all gym equipment daily
• Collect and dispose of all garbage daily
• Report any problems to physical therapist
• Respect patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA Policies and Procedures

Job Requirements: Must have high school and college diplomas (or be actively working toward a college degree). A neat and clean appearance is essential as this person works directly with every patient who walks through the door. The position requires standing and moving constantly throughout the shift. Some physical exertion to lift weighted equipment, set machines and support patients is required.

The ideal candidate is an outgoing multi-tasker with a positive attitude. Some experience preferred. On-the-job training is provided.
